Lois Smith Lewis SHELMERDINE - Lois Smith Lewis, 68, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2018. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2pm at New Destiny PH Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2pm at the church. Lois, daughter of the late Walter Lee Smith, Jr. and Josephine Smith, was a lifelong resident of the Shelmerdine community and a 1968 graduate of Chicod High School. She worked for Pitt County Department of Social Services, retiring in 1993. She was a longtime member of Shelmerdine PH Church, now Family Life Tabernacle, where she was pianist for many years. She was currently a member of New Destiny PH Church. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rev. Ray Lewis; daughter, Lorie Miller and husband Michael; son, Brian Lewis and wife JoLynn; grandchildren, Aaron and Jacob Miller, and Tanner Lewis, all of Greenville; sisters, Pat Joyner and husband Billy, and Edith Haddock; and brothers, Claudie Smith and wife Teresa and Jeff Smith and wife Jennifer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses, 605 Country Club Dr, Greenville, NC 27834. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
