Max C. Davidson, 96, of Liberal, Missouri, formerly of Arcadia, died at 4:30 A.M. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Medicalodges of Nevada at Nevada, Missouri. Mr. Davidson was born June 11, 1922 at Iola, Kansas the son of Lee and Grace Buchanan Davidson. Max was a retired electrician and coal miner who lived in Arcadia most of his life. He was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1940. He was the city electrician in Arcadia and later worked for Bill's Coal Company. He loved to fish. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Open Door Mission Church in Arcadia, the Masonic Lodge in Arcadia, and the American Legion Post #26 at Girard. He married Pauline McClarrinon on August 28, 1946 at Arcadia, Kansas. Pauline survives at the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Sandy Wheeler of Beulah and Cheryl (Elmer) Budd of Liberal, Missouri, a son, Jim (Regina) Davidson of Arma, seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jack Davidson, a grandson, Brandon Bryant, five sisters, Helen Saladino, Audrey Davidson, Elsie Boone, Margaret Ayers, and Darlene Daubens, and two brothers, Marion and Marvin Davidson. Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Pastor Roy Widmar officiating. Burial will be at the Old Arcadia Cemetery in rural Arcadia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Monday at the Bedene Chapel. The American Legion Post #26 at Girard will conduct graveside military services. The family suggest donations to the Open Door Mission Church in Arcadia. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
