Roberta Lee "Bobbie" Marshall
Roberta "Bobbie" Lee Marshall, 85, of Butler passed away Friday at her daughter's residence in Hershey due to complications associated with ALS. Born Aug. 21, 1933, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late F. Paul and Thelma E. Plaisted Black. She was a homemaker who cared for her family and over 60 newborns as a foster parent for the Children's Home of Pittsburgh. A woman of great faith, Bobbie was a life-long member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Butler. She was very involved with her church and volunteered at Katie's Kitchen. She was thankful for friends and always counted her blessings. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bobbie enjoyed dancing, reading, camping at Cook Forest State Park, events at Tanglewood Center and relaxing on her porch swing. Survivors include her four children, Susan (Ed) Tassey of Butler, Beth (Barry) Titler of Hershey, David R. Marshall of Hilliards, and Laura (John "Boo") Augustine of Butler. She is also survived by her only brother, F. Paul (Deb) Black Jr. of Missouri; and her daughter-in-law, Sallie Rumbaugh of Florida. Bobbie also leaves behind five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Robert M. Marshall, who passed away May 11, 2002. They were married May 9, 1964. Her first husband, William M. Rumbaugh; and eldest son, William J. Rumbaugh, also preceded her in death. MARSHALL - Friends of Roberta "Bobbie" Lee Marshall, who died Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Interment will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
