ELK GARDEN - Robert Otis "Bob" Hipp, 73, of Northwestern Turnpike, Elk Garden, WV, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his residence. Born on January 29, 1945 at Oakmont, WV, he was a son of the late Ivory O. and Gladys Dawilla (Harvey) Hipp. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Hipp. Mr. Hipp was a self employed stone mason. He loved reading the Bible and was an avid hunter and mountain man. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Charlene (Weese) Hipp; two sons, Micky Hipp of Augusta, WV and Roy Weese of Petersburg, WV; six daughters, Cynthia Hartman of Elk Garden, Cheryl McDaniel of Confluence, PA, Teresa MacLane of Friendsville, MD, Rebecca Campbell of Winchester, VA, Karen Sisler of Oakland, MD and Marie Helmick of Elk Garden; two brothers, Leslie Hipp of Hartmansville, WV and Brian Hipp of Moorefield, WV; three sisters, Brenda Stieringer of Mount Storm, WV, Donna Kay Hinger of Moorefield and Christina Dawn White of Oakland, MD; 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. At Mr. Hipp's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be conducted at the Hipp's Mountain Cemetery, Hartmansville, on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Hipp officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Smith Funeral Home, 85 S. Main Street Keyser, WV 26726 to assist in defraying funeral expenses. The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences and personal reflections to the family may be left after Mr. Hipp's obituary at smithfuneralhomes.net.
