Donald Francis Winter
BETHESDA, Md. - Donald Francis Winter of Bethesda, Md., passed away in the arms of his family at Holy Cross Hospital on Jan. 17, 2018. Don was born in Detroit, Mich., to Lawrence and Josephine Winter of Adrian, Mich. When Don was a child he loved to go fishing and hunting with his brother, Larry, and their Dad. Don graduated from Adrian Catholic Central High School in 1954, and after graduating he spent the next four years in the U.S. Army. Don loved shooting pool, fishing, golf, the Redskins and car shows. Don's love for cars turned into his lifetime career in the automotive business. Throughout his 40-plus years he managed several dealerships in Maryland and Virginia. Don loved the business and everything about it! When Don wasn't working he enjoyed golfing, antiquing with Ashley and watching old movies at home with his cat, "Cookie." Don was a kind and generous man who called his friends his "Buddy" or "Pal." Don's unconditional friendship and love he gave to all is priceless and will remain forever in our hearts! Don is survived by the love of his life of 43 years, Ashley Duggan; daughters, Angel Kimple, Pom and Steph Duggan, Tracy and Karen Winter; sons, Don, Scott and Sean Duggan and Robert Winter; grandkids, Matt, Cassie, Alex, Joey, Rachael, Charlotte, Alleah, Mel, Layla, Emily and Jessica Winter. Don's "Celebration of Life" will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 2, 2018, at the home of Ashley Duggan. Don's family and friends are invited to join us on this day to celebrate Don's life, because a life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully celebrated!
