James Bradburn Maier May 21, 1944 - August 4, 2018 James Bradburn Maier, also known as "Jim" and "Skipper", passed away at his residence on August 4, 2018. He was born on May 21, 1944 in Hamford, CA to parents Alicia Meyer Maier and Ferdinand George Maier. James was a resident of Barstow for over 65 years; before coming to Barstow he lived in Hinkley, CA. He worked at Nebo Marine Corps Logistic Base as a dispatcher, supply and file clerk. He was married to Martha L. Maier for 39 years. They had 2 children Michael A. Maier of Portland, OR and Joseph S. Maier of Portland, OR. Surviving cousins Zane Parker of Cedar Park, TX, Richard Kelley of Oceanside, CA, and cousin Ruth Kopitsch of North Massapequa, NY. One of his hobbies was weightlifting, he once won 4th place as a body builder; another hobby he liked was hiking. A Memorial service will take place at Barstow Seventh-day Adventist Church on September 15, 2018 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Barstow SDA Church (for the grounds project).
