Margaret Alice Doty
Margaret Alice Mayes Doty, 92, a longtime resident of Centralia, MO passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2018 at her home in Peoria, AZ. Margaret was born on July 19, 1925 in Centralia, MO. Her parents were Luther Glen Mayes and Nella Mae Pemberton Mayes. She was married to Dale Doty who proceeded her in death. Also proceeding Margaret were her sister, Lois Mayes Grinstead, brother-in-law O.D. Grinstead and nieces Glenda Grinstead Beasley and Nancy Grinstead Buie. Margaret lived most of her life in Centralia and operated several businesses, one being Margaret's Dress Shop. She and her husband also operated Doty Construction Company and a Sears catalog store. In retirement, she worked at the Centralia Public Library and then at the Boone County Sheriff's Office. She is survived by her son Daniel and daughter-in-law, Valerie Werner. As well as several great and great great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday September 8, 2018 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia, MO. A Celebration of life honoring Margaret will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Centralia Golf and Social Club in Centralia, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia First Christian Church, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
