Shirley A. Hatch-Sorrenti
Shirley Ann (Kroll) Hatch-Sorrenti, 86, of Concord, formerly of Lexington and Framingham died Wednesday August 22, 2018 in Concord. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Sorrenti and the late Frederic M. Hatch. Born in Acushnet on August 6, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Alice (DiVincent) Kroll. Shirley was the loving mother of Howard Hatch and his wife Sherry of Millville and Ric Hatch of Flagstaff, AZ., the loving grandmother of Shannon and Sarah Hatch and great-grandmother of Aubrey Hatch. She was also the dear sister of Valeri Melin and her husband Ed, Ruthann Napoli and her husband Bob, Muriel Meade, Janice Swanson and her husband Nick and the late Caroline Surrette and is also survived by her dear friend JoAnne Murray. She was a 1950 graduate of Lexington High School and later of Wilford Academy and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. Shirley was a secretary for the New England Artisans Guild, Framingham Garden Club and Friends of Framingham Library. She was active in St. Andrews Church in Framingham, teaching Sunday School for many years, and also serving on the Ways and Means Committee for the Churchs Annual Fair, where she made trays of taffy apples each year. A Cub Scout Den mother, she and her late husband Mr. Hatch were instrumental in forming Boy Scout Troop #78 in Framingham where Mr. Hatch served as Scoutmaster. Visiting hours will be held Fri. Sept. 7 th from 4 to 8 pm at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord Center. A funeral service will be held Saturday Sept. 8 at 9 am at Dee Funeral Home followed by interment at Marshfield Hills Cemetery, Old Main St., Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirleys memory may be made to Beetham Eye Institute at Joslin Diabetes Center, Murtha, One Joslin Place, Suite 745, Boston, MA 02215 (http:// www.joslin.org/donate ).
