In memory of
Eleanora M. Glenn
Eleanora M. Glenn was born December 14, 1923 on a farm south of Fowler Kansas to Joseph J. and Anna (Huslig) Hageman. Eleanora went to rest in peace on August 24, 2018. As a young lady she attended a country school and continued on to graduate from both St. Anthony grade school and Fowler High School. She went on to Cosmetology School in Dodge City and worked her first job in Meade. On April 15, 1947 she married Paul Glenn at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Fowler. After their marriage they moved to a farm near Dodge City where they lived for 25 years and had three children Larry, Eldon and JoAnn. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1982. Elenora was the main cook at the Sacred Heart School Lunch program for 20 years. After her retirement she did numerous hours of volunteer work. 4-H and extension work was very near to her heart. Elenora was a loyal member of Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society. In 2014, Eleanora moved to Quinter, Kanas to live in independent living to be close to her son and daughter in law. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and craft work. She always had a new idea to create with her hands. Many times, her family was the recipient of her works of love as blankets were crocheted for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her Later Years she diligently made stocking caps that were sent to children in need. She also enjoyed card games. She will be remembered and loved for the ways she provided loving care for her family and friends. Survivors include: her son, Larry Glenn and wife Carol, Quinter, Kansas; daughter in law, Sue Glenn; son in law, Daryl Cook, Coffeyville, Kansas; sister, Marie Dowell; sister in law, Dorothy Glenn; 5 Grandchildren, Nikki Wankum, Chad Glenn, Kelly Glenn, Ryan Glenn and Toby Cook; 13 Great Grandchildren. Eleanora was also preceded in death by a son, Eldon Glenn; a daughter, JoAnn Cook; 3 brothers, Herman Hageman, Victor Hageman, and Norbert Hageman and 2 sisters, Angela Mages, Evelyn Demuth. Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be 4:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday August 30, 2018 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central Ave, Dodge City with Fr. Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund or Ford County 4-H Foundation both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
