DODGE CITY - Michael "Mike" Lopez, 61, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born July 8, 1957 in Dodge City, the son of Joseph and Viola (Martinez) Lopez. He graduated from Richland Valley School near Dodge City. He was a associated with Arrowhead West, Dodge City and ResCare Pathways, Great Bend. He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. In his younger years he was also involved in special Olympics. Mike enjoyed visiting with family and friends, bowling, listening to his radio, and watching the weather. Survivors include: his mother, Viola Lopez, Dodge City; 3 sisters, Marilyn Treto and husband Rodolfo, Rosemary Lopez and JoAnn Steinert, all of Dodge City; a brother, Jeff Lopez and wife Rabecca, Garden City; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Lopez in 1997 and a brother, Larry Lopez in 1990. Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Sunday, August 26, 2018 and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Monday, August 27, 2018 the church with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
