Frances Gregory Lancaster BUFFALO — Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Gregory Lancaster, 86, wife of James Alvin Lancaster, 1812 Main Street, Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord, August 20, 2018. Mrs. Lancaster was born in Union, February 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Alvin Fincher Gregory and Thelma Gowan Gregory. She was a graduate of Union High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Lancaster was a faithful member of Buffalo Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School class and a member of the WMU Group #3 where she served as treasurer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband of 67 years are a grandson, Tyler Lancaster and wife Courtney of Union; a granddaughter, Mary Beth Bailey and husband Clint of Buffalo; a daughter-in-law; Dianne Smith and husband Jamie of Buffalo; and two great-granddaughters, Eva Grace Lancaster and Ellie Kate Lancaster, both of Union. Mrs. Lancaster was predeceased by a son, James Myron "Hank" Lancaster; and a great-grandson, Jase Bailey. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Buffalo Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Anderson. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Neal Elliott, Clint Bailey, Tyler Lancaster, Mark Haney, Mark Lancaster, Robert Lancaster, Kent Orr and Doug Johnson. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Joe and Phyllis Haney, Bruce and Linda Betenbaugh, R.D. and Ann Murphy, Brent Youngblood, Bobby Hyatt, members of the WMU and the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Buffalo Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 1-2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church Youth and Children's Ministry, P.O. Box 428, Buffalo, SC 29321.
