Julian "Steve" Deason February 15, 1949 - August 14, 2018 Mr. Julian "Steve" Deason, of Barstow, California, born on February 15, 1949 in Bishop, California, to the late Ruth Gabriel and the late Reeve Deason, passed away at age 69 on August 14, 2018 in Folsom, California. He graduated from Barstow High School in 1967 and received a Bachelors degree from Sacramento State University. From 1969 to 1975, Steve served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and from 1990 to 1996 the California Army National Guard during Desert Storm. He owned Brownies Liquour and Market until selling in 1998. Steve worked for the Department of Corrections for 24 years retiring from Folsom State Prison 4 years ago. Steve was the beloved husband of Sheila Jane Deason. He was preceded in death by his stepfather William Gabriel and father-in-law Roland Leroy Page. Julian is survived by his son Shelby Reeve Deason and son-in-law John Robert Booth; daughter Shannah Marie Booth and daughter-in-law Kassi Alyce Deason; brothers William Reeve Deason and George Winston Deason; and grandchildren Jennah Page Booth, Caylah Jane Booth, Juliah Marie Booth, Parker Alyce Deason, and Jillian Elliette Deason, and mother-in-law Ruby Lee Page. Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service on Sunday, August 19 at 10:00 am at Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 1201 Forrest Street, Folsom, California, followed by a Celebration of Life at Folsom Community Center. Miller Funeral Home is handling arrangements, 507 Scott Street, Folsom.
