Judith A. Wells
Judith A. Wells, age 74, of Bowling Green passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, at the First Christian Church in Bowling Green. Burial was in the Ashley Fairview Cemetery. Visitation was held 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Judith was born on April 27, 1944 in McPherson, Kan., the daughter of Jesse and Audrie Jolly Fletcher. On July 23, 1966 at St. Clement Catholic Church she married Lemuel A. Wells, III. He survives. Other survivors include sons; Lemmie Wells IV of Middletown, Matthew Wells (Sheila) of Wildwood, daughters; Karen Wells Branstetter of Ballwin and Kathryn Wells Bumeter (Scott) of Wildwood, nine grandchildren; Megan Branstetter Powell (Austin), Abigail Wells, Andrew Branstetter, Allison Wells, Maddie Bumeter, Lemmie Wells V, Brooke Branstetter, Mackenzie Bumeter and Audrey Wells; Jerry Fletcher (Sue) of Bloomington, Ill. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one niece; Kelley Fletcher and one nephew; Robert Wells. Judith was born in Kansas, lived in Troy and then moved to Bowling Green. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bowling Green and is a retired teacher. Judith was a member of the Pike County Nurses Scholarship Board, Board member of Every Child, Every Day, Former Pike Shop Board Member, Former member of Pike-Lin Quilt Guild, Pike County Community Partners Member, Holiday for Hope Member, former Bowling League, and a member of the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed Bunko, Mahjong, traveling, scrapbooking, playing cards and sewing. Pallbearers were Lemmie Wells IV, Matt Wells, Scott Bumeter, Andrew Branstetter, Jeff Boland and Mike Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers were Pam Williams, Alice Schuckenbrock, Vallie Tepen, Linda Fern Grote, Dee Miller, Louise Hunter, Joyce Megown and Linda Korte. Memorials may be made to Pike County Nurses Scholarship, Pike County Community Partners, Every Child Every Day, First Christian Church or Ashley Fairview Cemetery.
