Benjamin Harvey Toulson, Jr. Salem, N.J. Benjamin Harvey Toulson, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 2018. Ben was born in Salem, NJ, on April 21, 1930, to Benjamin Harvey Toulson, Sr. and Susan (nee Dilks) Toulson. He was president of the Class of 1950 at Salem High School. He served in the US Army. An active volunteer fire fighter for many years, he served as Chief of Pennsville Fire & Rescue Co. No. 1 and as Salem County Fire Marshal. He was also a longtime member of Trinity UM Church in Pennsville. Ben is survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Hines) Toulson, children, Deborah Ellison (Griff), Donna Melnick (Randy) and Benjamin H. Toulson, III (Candy) and David Livesay (Patty). He was the proud grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 5. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Ann (nee Dilks) Heaney. He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Faye (nee Luck) Toulson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 21, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsville. Family and friends may call Monday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville and again on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial with honors will be at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, Broadway & Church St., Pennsville, NJ, or the Pennsville Fire & Rescue Co.
