Norman Joseph Havlik
Norman Joseph Havlik, age 86, of Silex, passed away Aug. 15, 2018 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Saturday Aug. 18, 2018 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Burial was in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday from 4 until 8 pm at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. Norman was born March 6, 1932 in Silex, the son of John Thomas and Catherine Elizabeth Flynn Havlik. He married Mary Lou Graver June 20, 1953 at St. Clement Catholic Church. Survivors include daughters Brenda Mosby (Les) of Silex, Peggy Hufty (Kent) of Silex; four grandchildren Brad Mosby (Steff) of Silex, Katie Conoyer (Chad) St. Paul, Scott Hufty (Kelly) of Silex, Michael Hufty of St. Louis; great grandchildren Chloe and Carson Conoyer, Connor and Claire Hufty. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, sibling Hank Havlik and Virginia Lenk. Norman grew up and lived on the family farm his entire life. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood. Norman enjoyed watching Silex High School sports, watching sports on T.V. and raising hogs and farming with his wife Mary Lou. Serving as pallbearers were Brad Mosby, Scott Hufty, Michael Hufty, John Thompson, Mike Sullivan, and Rick Twellman. Memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Cemetery Association.
