In memory of
Jackie D. "Jack" Holeman
Jackie "Jack" D. Holeman, 80, of Citrus Hills died Aug 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer. Jack was the son of Elizabeth "Bette" Thompson and Kenneth "Bat" Holeman. He was born in Nowata, Oklahoma in 1938 and lived throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas as a child. He graduated high school in Corpus Christi, Texas where he met and married Joy Stanberry before serving in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. From that marriage, he had four children. After his military service, Jack worked for Shell Oil Company before joining Friden as a repair technician for the first transistorized desktop calculators. He quickly moved up within the company and enjoyed a successful management career which ultimately lead him to Tampa in 1973. After his 16 year marriage ended in divorce in 1977, Jack relocated to Miami. It was there that he met and married Kathy Morrison in 1988. Jack took an early retirement from TRW (f/k/a Friden and Singer) and joined Kathy in operating North Miami Auto Tag and Insurance for many years before retiring (again) to Citrus Hills. Jack and Kathy shared a passion for travel centered around fishing. They competed in tournaments all around the world including Kenya, Mexico, the Caribbean, and many places in Central and South America. After the passing of his wife in 2011, he met his companion Lynn Meyer in 2013 with whom he continued his love for travel. During his retirement in Citrus Hills, he was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church and Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club. He very much enjoyed the time he spent with his church family as well as the camaraderie of the BGA (Bad Golfer's Association). Jack is preceded in death by his wife Kathy, sister Louise Pierucci, and daughter Jill Deann Holeman. He is survived by his children Jana (Terry) Flaherty, Jeri Littrell, Jason (Katie) Holeman; grandchildren Troy (Alison) Flaherty, Travis (Jordian) Flaherty, Meghan, Sean, Ryan and Kevin Flaherty, Gage, Bryce and Owen Holeman; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Blakely, Avery, Dane and Nora Flaherty. Services will be held at 11 am. on August 11, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, 2540 W Norvell Bryant Hwy, Lecanto, FL, 34461. www.sothec.org **In honor of our Dad, golf or fishing attire is appropriate.** In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up with Shepherd of the Hills to be distributed to St Jude's Cancer Hospital for Children and Hospice of Citrus and The Nature Coast.
