William T. "Bill" Welch Sr. William Thomas Welch Sr., "Bill", 86 yrs, Blue Springs, MO. passed away Friday, June 8, 2018. Bill was born December 14, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was awarded 5 Bronze Stars. After his time in the service he returned home and met the love of his life, Frances Imms. They were married August 27, 1955. Bill started a successful career in the 1950's working on computers at a time when most people did not know what a computer was!! He embraced the Internet and email, it was a way for him to send his kids an email with a link to something that he wanted to voice his opinion about and he had a lot of opinions!! Always signed off his email with "God Bless, Geezer". His career opportunities led him to different parts of the country. In 1966 Bill moved his family to the Dallas, TX area, followed by a move in 1971 to the KCMO area where they settled in Blue Springs, MO. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 yrs Frances Welch, his 5 children; Cathy Winfrey (Terry), Nancy Yeager (Joe), Bill Welch Jr. (Julie), Bob Welch (Jamie) and Ken Welch (Sigi), 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. There will be no funeral service per Bill's request. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 7th, 6-10pm at the Lake Lotawana Community Club, 9613 Lake Shore Dr., Lee's Summit, MO. 64086.K
