Patrick Joseph Barry IV Haverstraw - Patrick Joseph Barry IV (Sonny), a life long resident of Haverstraw, passed away with his loving family by his side, on June 13, 2018. Patrick was the son of Patrick Joseph III and Bertha (Odell) Barry, born on August 20, 1935 in Nyack, NY. Patrick was married to the love of his life, Marilyn M. (DePalma) Barry and celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 12, 2018. Patrick was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having served his country from 1958 to 1964. Patrick was an outstanding man and a gifted carpenter. Sonny had a passion for boating and enjoyed his many trips on the Hudson River visiting the Statue of Liberty and spending time with his family at his lake house in Lake Luzerne. He was a life member of the Haverstraw Elks B.P.O.E. #877 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Haverstraw Council #581. He was also a life long parishioner of St. Peters Church in Haverstraw, NY. Patrick is survived by his loving family, his devoted wife Marilyn, his loving children, son John Patrick Barry (Amy), and two daughters, Kathleen M. Stila (William), and Colleen P. Barry (John). Also, thirteen cherished grandchildren, Sofia and Victoria Barry, Samantha, Joseph, Austin, Allison, Sara, and William Stila, Carly, Kelsey, and Nicholas Jacobs, Sean and Skylar O'Connor and numerous nieces and nephews. Patrick is predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Gloria Pardillo (Ray), Shirley Vonhelms (Fred), Norma Barry, and Joan Nappo (Chick). Patrick (Sonny) will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 from 4 - 8 PM at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY 10927. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Peter and St. Mary Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY. Patrick will be laid to rest at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
