Jerome R. Jurgensmier
Jerome R. Jurgensmier Fond du Lac - Jerome R. Jurgensmier, age 84, formerly of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 8, 2018, in Sarasota, FL. He was born in 1934 in Fond du Lac to Jennie (Schmitz) Jurgensmier and Edwin Jurgensmier. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He moved to Sarasota in 1966 and enjoyed a successful career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he started as a letter carrier, worked his way up to supervisor, and retired in 1989. He was a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed walking and watching sports on TV. Jerome is survived by his wife Janet (Beyer) Jurgensmier of Sarasota; two children, Julie (Jurgensmier) Suddeth of Winter Springs, FL, and Jeffrey Jurgensmier of Tolland, CT (all formerly of Fond du Lac); and four living grandchildren, Trent and Tyler Suddeth of Winter Springs and Bonnie and Madalyn Jurgensmier of Tolland. He is further survived by cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his father, Edwin; his mother, Jennie; and his grandson Jason Jurgensmier. No funeral service is planned. His ashes will be interred at a later date in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, in Fond du Lac.
