CARL ALLEN SHAW March 24, 1938 ~ May 18, 2018 Carl Allen Shaw, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2018 in Corning, CA. Carl was born in Loomis, CA on March 24, 1938 to Robert and Nadine Shaw. He is pre-deceased by his parents and his sister, Karen Gaubatz. He is survived by his five children (Ken, Del, Don, Sandy and Tim), nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He served in the US Army from 1961-1963 and was decorated as a marksman (rifle). From an early age Carl was most at home in the mountains and along the California and Oregon Coast. He was known for long backpacking trips with family, vacationing at his favorite spots on the coast, hunting, mountain climbing and fishing. Friends and family will forever remember his warmth, sense of humor, willingness to listen and support whenever needed. He was loved by all and will be missed. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral at the Redding Memorial Park, 1201 Continental St., in Redding on June 16, 2018 at 10am.
