James Leon Jed
April 19, 1959 - May 15, 2018 James Leon Jed of Woodland, passed away from natural causes while at home Tuesday, May 15. Born in Stevens Point, WI, his family moved to California in 1970. He attended Junior High in Davis, and graduated high school at Rio Americano High School (Carmichael) in 1977. Jim served three years in the US Army as an MP in Korea and stateside. In 1987, Jim entered the housing industry, working at Silvercrest Western Homes for 22 years and Skyline Homes for seven years until his passing, with the majority of his career spent drafting custom homes. Preceded in death by Ilsa Heink, Stephen Jed and Kathryn Jed, Ferdinand Hirzy, and Marcella Wesley. Survived by mother/aunt, Mary Wesley; wife of 31 years, Becky Juarez Jed; children, Rachel Jed (BobbyJoe Hernandez), and Stephen Jed; grandchild, Camden Hernandez; siblings, Michael and Jennifer Jed, Mark (Susan) Hirzy, Ann Michele (Karl) Wesley, Kurt Hirzy and Vivian (Joe) Cornish. A celebration of life will be held June 10, at 3 p.m., at Father Paddy's Irish Pub, 435 Main St., Woodland. Family, friends and coworkers are invited to attend.
