Rigoberto Perez
LAUREL - Rigoberto Perez passed away peacefully at Season's Hospice in Christiana. He was born in Cuba to the late Alipio Perez and Maria Ramos. Rigoberto retired from Perdue, but still enjoyed selling chicken and farm products around the area where he was known as the local 'Chicken Man.' He enjoyed farming as well as socializing with friends and family. He loved bald eagles, learning and experiencing different cultures, as well as music and singing. He was always on hand to help around the community. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eudocia Perez. Rigoberto is survived by his wife, Nilda E. Caban Perez; children, Rigoberto Perez Jr., Juan Carlos Perez, George Perez, Miguel Perez, Jamie Aviles, Mabell Castaneda, David Gonzalez, and Sarah Gonzalez; sister, Teresita Ramos; brothers, Juan Perez, Pedro Perez, Reynaldo Perez, and Luis Vega; grandchildren, Leslie Perez, Ramon Gomez, Juan Carlos Perez Jr., George Perez Jr., Michael Perez, Tiana Castaneda, Elisa Lawson, Raymond Lawson, Ariella Gonzalez, Jovani Castaneda, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Julian Gonzalez, and Elijah Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Ja'Ceon Castaneda, Zeida Perez, and Joseline Gomez. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Georgetown. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Surgical ICU at Christiana Hospital, as well as Dr. Sarah Shaw, and Season's Hospice at Christiana Hospital.
