In memory of
Elizabeth Leber
Elizabeth M. Leber, 90, of Fort Washington, PA passed away peacefully on May 11, 2018 at the Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, PA. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin R. Leber who passed away in August of 1983. Born November 27, 1927 in Hilltown, PA she was the daughter of the late John and the late Magdalena (nee Irmler) Schneider. She attended Hilltown High School and then graduated from Lansdale High School, but Elizabeth was always very proud of her “Hilltown Roots”. Elizabeth had been previously employed by the Philco Ford Company, which is where she met her late husband, and then later on at Solid State in Horsham, from where she retired to help take care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed many vacations, and was always ready and willing to travel for an adventure, and she also enjoyed spending time at Brigantine, NJ where she had many special moments. Elizabeth was an avid sports fan of football, basketball, and baseball, but what she really enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Craig D. Leber (Maryalice), of Fort Washington, PA, her grandchildren, Meredith Engel (Zachary), Kathryn Leber, Thomas Leber, and Nora Leber, her great-granddaughter, Margalit Engel, her brothers-in-law, Philip Leber and Paul Leber, and many devoted nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. She was also preceded in death by her son, the late Kevin W. Leber, her brothers, the late John Schneider (the late Grace), and the late Richard Schneider (the late Mary), her sisters-in-law, the late Ruth Ashlock, the late Bertha Leber, the late Sybil Leber, and the late Louise Leber, and her brother-in-law, the late Charles Ashlock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life to be held on Thursday morning, May 17, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 7809 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to either Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, 533 Foundry Road, Norristown, PA 19403, or to the Meals on Wheels of Ambler (Montco SAAC), 45 Forest Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002,and which would be deeply appreciated by her family. Elizabeth’s family would also like to thank the staff of Artman Lutheran Home for all of their wonderful care and concern that they gave to her through the years, which meant a great deal to them.
