CHESTER ZIELINSKI
Chester Zielinski, 85 Korean War veteran, vice commander of American Legion Oakwood Beach branch Chester Zielinski, age 85, died peacefully at home on May 14, 2018. Chester was born on July 12, 1932, in Kulpmont, Pa., to Michael and Antonina Zielinski. He proudly served in the Korean War and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was vice commander of the American Legion Post Oakwood Beach branch and a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, talking about politics and tending to his garden, as well as chasing the squirrels that frequented it. Chester was predeceased by his son, John Holzer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marguerite Zielinski; his children, Kim Langella, Michael Zielinski, Concetta Imperato; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will take place at Hanley Funeral Home today, Tuesday, May 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace on Wednesday, May 16, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
