SHELBURNE FALLS - Michael E. Tuckey, 70, of Shelburne Falls, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 in Greenfield, MA after a short illness. He was born in Springfield on October 8, 1947, the son of the late George and Rita (Strain) Tuckey. He was educated in Springfield Schools and graduated from Commerce High School, later attending Springfield College. Mike felt passionately about local politics and a duty to lift up other less fortunate and threw himself into a variety of roles in supporting candidates and giving back. He leaves his fiancée, Barbara Watts, who provided incredible love, comfort and support and his children, Michael E. Tuckey Jr. of Springfield and Sarah (Tuckey) Hoben and her husband Reece of Jupiter, FL who were always the center of his universe until his four grandchildren, Michael III, Skyler, Jack and Reecie arrived and made him a Pops. Pops was his favorite role. He also leaves his siblings, Patrick, MaryJo Pippa and John and three godchildren he adored: Angela Grout, Lindsay Amodio and Trey Kautz. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 PM at O'Brien Funeral Home 17 Clark St. Easthampton a Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday 10 am at St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts made be made in Mike's memory to the Shelburne Falls Senior Center.
