Margaret 'Peg' Galligan, 88 Margaret "Peg" Galligan (nee Nevins), 88 years young, passed away on Feb. 12, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in the Park Slope section. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Galligan, Esq.; mother of Dr. TJ Galligan and his wife, Lucille, and Meg Galligan and her husband, Marc Finkelstein, MD.; devoted grandmother to Dr. Ryan Galligan and Lindsey Galligan, CPA, and loving sister to Joanella McCourt and the late Helene Shea and John V. Nevins II. Peg and Tom raised their family in Great Kills where she was a prominent member of the volunteer community on Staten Island. She served as president of St. Clare's Mothers Club, president of The Huguenot Garden Club, director of District 1 and Flower Show Judge for New York State Federated Garden Clubs, president and member of the Women's Auxiliary of Staten Island Historical Society, member of the Board of Directors of Historic Richmond Town, and advisory board member at the Markham Child Care Center. Her hobbies included tennis and boating with her husband. Peg's love of life was reflected in her commitment to family, friends, community, and a strong faith in God. Funeral from Casey-McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills. Visiting is Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection is on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. from St. Clare Church.
