Ida V. DePue-Swayze
OGDENSBURG - Ida V. DePue-Swayze, 83, passed away at home on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017. Ida was born in Ogdensburg and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of Amos and Alice Shaw. She worked at Morley's, Accurate Forming, and Howmet. Ida's interests included singing and enjoying music of the big band and country genres and dancing. She had a love for design. She was a member of the Hardyston Township Seniors. She loved her pets and nature. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Fleming Shaw, of Hamburg; her sister Mary Bennett; her brother-in-law, Clarence Bennett, and nephew, Bruce Bennett, all of Homosassa, Fla.; her husbands, Bud DePue and John Swayze, as well as her companion of 30 years, Augie Bartell, and two stepdaughters, Judy Swayze and Donna Swayze-Norton. Ida is survived by four daughters, Lynn DePue-Peterson and her husband, Robert Peterson, of Hope, Diane DePue-Hering, of Ogdensburg, Bonnie Doboney, of Rockaway, and Terry Van Allen, of Long Valley; two grandsons, Christopher and Joel Peterson, of Hope; two stepgranddaughters, Elisa and Adrianna; niece, Sharon Beams and her husband, Dave, of Homosassa, Fla.; nephew, Tom Bennett and his wife, Linda, of Inverness, Fla. She had several great-nieces, nephews and stepgrandchildren. Memorial service will be held and announced in spring or early summer of 2018. Donations in her memory would be preferred and made to the United War Veterans Council or the N.J. Foundation for The Blind.
