Rebecca Jo Covey
On December 27, 2017 with her daughters at her side Becky was promoted to the Kingdom of Heaven. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on November 11, 1946 to Raymond J. and Virginia (Wells) Fowler. Becky graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964 and continued her education at Indiana University. During her teenage years she met the love of her life, Gary Lee Covey, after years of dating the two were married on December 26, 1965. She was a devoted wife while Gary served our country in the U.S. Navy.. Becky would continuously write to him keeping his moral high and sharing news from home. Over the years their love would only grow stronger with the love of the Lord as their guide. They were married for 51 years prior to Gary's death on April 17, 2017. Becky's passion was her family. She loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. As toddlers, each one had their time of sitting on the kitchen counter "helping" Becky to bake. Lessons with love on the "do's" and "don'ts" in the kitchen but most of the time it was lots of licking beaters and spoons. Many an hour were vested by her oven. Spending time outdoors with Gary while he bird watched was also very precious to her, as well as quality time fishing. Becky was very strong in her faith. She was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church. She was active in the Hoosier Hills Emmaus Community and had served as a lay director. Becky also participated in Kairos prison ministry. The last few years Becky devoted her time to taking care of her husband, Gary, through his illness. Becky always put her husband, children and grandchildren before herself, showing love to each of them, yet teaching them to pick themselves "up by the bootstraps" and get on with life. Her commitment to God and her family will always be remembered. Becky is survived by her children; Christina Dell (Steve) Hayes, of Indianapolis and Crystal Jeanene (Donnie) Hillenburg, of Solsberry, her grandchildren, Justin (Alicia) Hayes, Mallory (Jared) Kinnaird, Jordan Hillenburg, Marissa (fiancé- Tyler Poland) Hayes, Harley Hillenburg and Jaclyn Hillenburg; great-grandchildren, Aidan Kinnaird, Parker Kinnaird, Kylie Hayes and Clara Kinnaird. Becky is also survived by her mother, Virginia Fowler, of Ellettsville and one brother, Raymond C. (Lynn) Fowler, of Solsberry.
