Ronald E. Horne December 18, 1947 - November 25, 2017 Hustontown Ronald Edward Horne, 69, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 18, 1947 at Maddensville, PA, he was a son of the late Miles W. and Geraldine (Brown) Horne. He was united in marriage to the former Nancy E. Appleby on August 3, 1974. Mrs. Horne preceded in death May 22, 2009. He is survived by two sons, Philip R. Horne and wife, Brandi of Shippensburg, and Patrick E. Horne and wife, Jaime of Shirleysburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Brayden, Asher, Paxton, Lainey, Quinn, Reagan and Sullivan; and four siblings, Dolores Swope of Quarryville, PA, Fred Horne of Hustontown, Bonnie Houck of St. Thomas, and Donald Horne of Fort Littleton. Mr. Horne attended My Father's House Ministries, McConnellsburg. He was a member of the Fulton County Gideons and the National Rifle Association. He was a 1966 graduate of Forbes Road High School and a 1967 graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL. From 1968 until 1970 he worked at Westinghouse Aerospace Defense Center, Baltimore, MD. He then served in the U. S. Army from 1970 until 1972 in the Persian Missile Division, 1st of the 81st, Neu Ulm, Germany. In 1972 he started working for McKelvey Oil Company, Harrisonville, and in October of 1975 began Miles W. Horne Plumbing & Heating, Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, with his brother, Donald, and father, Miles. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at My Father's House Ministries, 1635 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, with Pastor William Chilcote officiating. Interment will be made at Center Cemetery, Waterfall, PA. Friends may call at the church 6 to 9 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to My Father's House Ministries, 1635 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
