In memory of
1924 ~ 2017 November 13,2017 It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of a great man today. Our Father, Jack David Habish, was a true hero, not only because of his service and love for his country, but also because of the love and care he had for his family. Dad was born on April 30th 1924 and raised in Salt Lake City. When the war broke out, like many other young men he joined the service. He served in the Philippines as a medic, and saw more than anyone should have to. He was badly wounded and spent many months in the hospital recovering. He was awarded both the silver and bronze star, as well as the Purple Heart. He taught us to love and respect ourselves and our Country. He was married to our Mom for 71 years, and managed to help raise four daughters. He is survived by his wife, Eva Rasmussen Habish, and three daughters, Sandra Hemming (Greg), Vickie Springer (Jeff), and Polly Fackrell. Nine grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Johnson, grandson Britton Springer, and three great great grandsons. He was our hero and our legend A family celebration of life will be held at a later date, as he requested his body be donated for research to the University of Utah.
