KRISTA MANARD PLAINVILLE, ILLINOIS — Krista J. Manard, 54, of Plainville, Illinois, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at 1:55 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. Krista was born Feb. 14, 1963, in Pittsfield, Illinois, the daughter of Jerry and Roberta Clendenny DeLany. She married Kevin Manard on Oct. 1, 1993, in Plainville, Illinois. He survives. Krista returned to college later in life to pursue a degree in biology with an emphasis in research on gut microbiota and its effects on human health. She was also very interested in entomology, and she has a paper being published within that field along with professor Dr. Coehlo. She owned and operated Stone's Prairie Market in Plainville along with Kevin and Sarah. Krista was an artist, a musician, an activist, a researcher, a gardener, and a devoted mother. She loved the environment and its creatures, great and small. Survivors in addition to her husband Kevin include her son, Joseph (fiancée, Emilie Higley) Wiewel of Quincy, Illinois; a daughter, Sarah (Alvin) Dandan of West Burlington, Iowa; a granddaughter, Abrielle Dandan of West Burlington; her father, Jerry DeLany, of Quincy ; two sisters, Kim Fortier of Mozier, Illinois, and Kerry (Richard) Bieker of Fieldon, Illinois; a brother, Kameron DeLany of Houston, Texas, and a nephew, Chuck Fortier of Nebraska. Krista was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta DeLany, and a nephew, Allen Stilbrink. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Jerry Walters officiating. Burial will be at Hamburg Cemetery, Hamburg, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorials may be to donor's choice. www.hansenspear.com .
