Gavula, Adrienne Adrienne Gavula, 35, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. Adrienne graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a Master's of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University. She was a social worker and the Development Director for the ACLU of Ohio, and previously worked at Columbus AIDS Task Force and the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter. In addition to volunteering, she has also served on the Women Have Options and Freedom of Choice Ohio Coalition boards. Adrienne was passionate about travel, social justice issues and the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was thoughtful, generous and inspired those around her to be their best selves. Adrienne was a fierce advocate of the First Amendment, the rights of underprivileged populations and pushing systems towards equality and justice. She spent every day making the world a more kind, fair place. Adrienne is survived by her mother, Sheila McConnell; stepfather, Denny McConnell; father, Frank Gavula; sister, Jenna Gavula; brother, Kyle (Lori) Gavula; nieces, Loryn and Lindsey Gavula. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Frank and Mary Gavula, and Shelby and Pauline Bair. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, September 8 from 6-9 p.m. at The Ohio State University College of Social Work Stillman Hall, 1947 College Rd., Columbus, OH 43210.
