William D. Berg, 88, Long Beach, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN. Private burial will take place. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -11:00 am, Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic Church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements. He was born November 6, 1928 in Oak Park, Illinois to the late William and Helen (Ahern) Berg. Surviving are six children, Thomas (Joan) Berg, Kathleen (Paul) Newman, Donna (Nunzio) Castellano, Susan (Bobby) Clark, Carol (Terry) Rolecek and Jeannie (Tom) Muldowney; sixteen grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Sarah, Eric, Emma, Sonny, Brian, Michael, Sammy, Annie, Grace, Charlie, Tommy, Danny, Kevin and Colleen; and his sister, Mariana Bruce of Michigan City, IN. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim and sister, Patriciana. William retired at the age of 84 as a stockbroker with Morgan Stanley and was an original member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He attended St. Angela Elementary School, Chicago, IL, Campion Jesuit High School, Prairie du Chien, WI and Marquette University. We will remember Bill for his love of family, travel, skiing, tennis, 4th of July celebrations, his restaurant critiques, and his quick wit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607 or to the Share Foundation for the Handicapped, P.O.
