Patricia Kay Larson
Patricia Kay Larson Patricia Kay Larson, 72 of Kaneville passed away at her home January 16, 2017. She was born in 1944 the daughter of the late Clifford T. and Frieda I. (Runge) Smith-Barnes. She grew up in Aurora graduating from West Aurora High School in 1962. She met the love of her life, David Glen Larson and they were united in marriage on October 1, 1966 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora. They began their life together in Aurora before moving to Kaneville in 1974 to raise their children. As a young woman, Pat realized she wanted a meaningful job which took her to the office of Charles A. O'Connor, M.D. There with "Charlie", she began a 27 year career in the medical field helping others which she said was always her "calling". She was proud to be Charlie's confidant and treasured the bond she formed with him and his patients. When he decided to retire, she was saddened knowing she would not see her other family. As destiny, would have it, Pat found another family at Farmers Insurance in 1994. She treasured the friendships she made, retiring in 2007 saying goodbye to yet another family but looking forward to retirement and travel in her golden years, but most importantly to spend more time with the pride and joy of her life, her four grandchildren, Connor, Grant, Gray and Seth. Always involved in the lives of her children, she and her husband would be seen at every school event including sports through their sons' college days cheering them on wherever they competed. She loved being on the Mississippi River waterways, the outdoors, traveling and gardening. She is a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and past member of the Kaneland Sports Boosters. Pat leaves many legacies from a life lived with joy, determination and devotion. The footprints of her love and friendship can be found on many paths, but the most treasured will be the ones left on the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Brad wife, Tracy and their children, Grant and Gray of Charlotte, NC, and Ryan wife, Veronica and their children, Connor and Seth of Loganville, GA.; one sister, Ruthie Lee Toma of Oswego; her brother & sister-in-law, Gerry & Alma Larson of St. Charles, MO; sisters-in-law Nancy Larson of Johnston, IA; and Sara Schneider of Williamston, MI; as well as, numerous dear nieces, nephews and cousins. She now joins her family who proceeded her in death, husband, David; daughter, Beth; parents, Clifford T. and Frieda Smith-Barnes; step-father, Clifford H. Barnes; brother and sister-in-law, Clifford E. and Betty J.
