Mary J. Parkinson- Becker AGE: 88 • West Cape May PARKINSON-BECKER (nee McGinty), Mary J. - After 88 wonderful and happy years, Mary Parkinson-Becker passed away on November 17, 2016. Mary spent the last several years living with her daughter in West Cape May. She loved being around people and entertaining family and friends. Her smile was infectious and her kindness to others will never be forgotten. Mary was the oldest of four children born to Margaret and Patrick McGinty and raised in Chester, PA. While in high school, her family purchased a rooming house in North Wildwood, where Mary developed her life-long love of the beach. Mary spent many years happily married to William Parkinson and raising her family in Stratford, NJ. While living in Stratford, Mary went back to school and obtained a degree from Glassboro State College. She then went to work for the Stratford BOE and continued working after her husband, William Parkinson, passed away. Happiness to Mom was time well spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She rarely missed a Christmas concert, birthday, baseball game or any chance to enjoy her family. She is survived by her son, William Parkinson (Beth) and their two children Tim and Kristen, her daughter Janice Conwell (Bruce) and their three children, Jennifer (Michael), Bruce (Theresa) and Kate, and her five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Haven, Sloane, Ashton and Quinn. Mary was pre-deceased by her brothers John and James McGinty, and is survived by her sister Patsy. There will be a private burial service at the gravesite.
