In memory of
Sgt. Calvin W. Aguilar
Sgt. Calvin W. Aguilar Resident of Hayward Sargent Calvin W. Aguilar, 32, was recruited to Heaven on August 3rd, 2016. He served 1 tour to Iraq and 1 tour to Afghanistan as a Military Working Dog Handler with Nico and Falco. Sgt. Aguilar came into this world December 29th, 1983, in Oxnard, CA to Carlos and Rebecca Aguilar. It was his mission in life to help people. It was no surprise that in 2006, he joined the armed forces and was assigned to the Army base camp in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After graduating in 2006, he was assigned to several military police organizations falling under the 503D, 95th, and 720th MP Battalions Sgt. Aguilar's awards consist of 3 Army Commendation Medals, an Army Achievement Medal, 2 Army Good Conduct Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Arrowhead Device, an Iraqi Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, a NCO Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, 2 Overseas Service Ribbons, a NATO Medal, a Certificate Of Achievement, a Combat Action Badge, a Parachute Badge and a mother loving partridge in flipping pear tree. Sgt. Aguilar was the kind of person you can only hope to encounter once in your life. He wore many hats: brother, friend, counselor, drinking buddy, designated driver, wingman, jokester. He was the calming presence in the midst of chaos. He had a sixth sense about it: he knew when you were off your game and he would do anything in his power to make you right again. He is survived by his daughter Isabella, his four legged son Nico, his wife Loralyn, his parents Carlos and Rebecca, and siblings Ningning and Robert. Family and friends are invited to visit after 5PM and to the Vigil at 7PM both on Thursday, August 25th and to the funeral service at 11AM on Friday, August 26th, all at Holy Angels Funeral & Cremation Center, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward. Flower and donations may be sent to directly to 1051 Harder Road, Hayward, CA 94542. View the online memorial for Sgt. Calvin W. Aguilar
