Virginia "Ginny" Porter March 5, 1929 - July 26, 2016 Fort Valley, GA- Virginia "Ginny" Louise Porter, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Ginny was born on March 5, 1929, in Juliette, Georgia to the late James Walter and Leslie Lee Frazier. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Helen Cochran and Jeanette Grier and a brother, Quinton Frazier. She was an avid musician who loved to play piano and sing. Ginny even performed on the first ever television broadcast in Macon, WKTV, where she sang with Jimmie Harris and the Rhythm Ramblers once a week. She was the pianist and vocalist for the Broomfield Gardens Baptist Church for 19 years. She also had a passion for shut-ins and enjoyed sharing her talents, entertaining them whenever and wherever she could. Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Charles L. Porter, Ft. Valley, GA; her sons: Alan Porter, Warner Robins, GA; Christopher Porter, Ft. Valley, GA; her grandchildren: Allana Fox (Derek); Ashton Porter; 3 great-grandchildren; her 3 sisters: Margarita Marsh; Teresa Montgomery; Frances Blessett.
