IVES, ALAN B. of Hobe Sound, FL passed away on May 17th at age 87. Son of Milton and Marie, Alan grew up in New Haven, Conn. and graduated from Yale University and Harvard Law School. He moved to Miami in 1957 and enjoyed a successful career in the mortgage banking industry. Alan served as president of the Mortgage Bankers Association, was a member of Mensa, and involved in The University Club, The Leukemia Society and The Gold Diggers, performing in their annual charity shows. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Margret, sons Alan and Jonathan, daughter Kim Paris (Michael), daughter Melissa Ives, daughter in law Carol Ives and grand-children Matt, Caroline (Andy), Catherine and Alan "AJ". He will be greatly missed and remembered for his brilliant mind and keen sense of humor, his love of musical theater, sports, travel, dogs and most of all his deep love for his family. In keeping with his generosity, memorial gifts may be made to The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or The Leukemia Society. A celebration of Alan's life will take place in Hobe Sound.
