Esther L. Burwell
Esther L. Burwell, the daughter of Carrie (Nelsen) and Otto Bringelson, was born September 24, 1919 at Inavale, Nebraska. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 11 days. Esther received her formal education attending the Inavale schools and graduated with the class of 1936. She was united in marriage with Clare Burwell on June 13, 1936 at Inavale. This union was blessed with three children, Janice, Kenneth and Verlene. A lifelong resident of the area, they made their home at Inavale, except for a few years spent in the Riverton community. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper with Valco Elevators in Riverton and Franklin. She finished her career working for Nelson Trambly at the Inavale elevator. Esther always enjoyed her years on the farm and helping Clare with the work. She also took care of the books for many years for her church and the cemetery. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking and music. Esther was dedicated to her family and cherished the time they spent together. She will be lovingly remembered as a good mother, grandmother and friend. Esther especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends at her 90th birthday celebration. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clare; two daughters, Janice Webber and Verlene Stringer, a grandson, Ricky Webber; brothers, John and Alvin Bringelson; sisters, Frances Worman, Elsie Worman, Eleanor Best and Hazel Hayworth, and two infant sisters Ella and Ruth, Left to treasure her memory are her son, Ken Burwell and wife Janice of Minden, Nebraska; sons-in-law, David Stringer and Marvin Webber of Inavale, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Burwell of Richmond, Kansas; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, 2:30 p.m., February 8, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Cloud with the Rev. Joel Rathbun and Rev. Alan Houston officiating.
