Donald R. Gill Sr.
Donald R. Gill, Sr., 81, of Fair Hill, MD, passed away September 29, 2012 at Seasons Hospice at Christiana Care. He was the son of the late Thomas and Beatrice Gill. He retired from Major Distribution as a truck driver. He was a member of Elkton Moose Lodge 851 and Oxford Eagles, and also a member of AARP. He liked to watch old movies, the Waltons, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on TV. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Mattson) Gill; son Donald Jr. of Fair Hill; 3 daughters, Rose Lowe, Worton, MD, Pat Reed of NC, and Donna Duffy of Calvert, MD; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind 4 sisters, Louise Pierce of Wilmington, DE, Jean Pierce of Oxford, PA, Gladys Wilde of Philadelphia, PA and Joyce Rock of Honey Brook, PA. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a daughter Mary Ellen, a son in law, Dave Duffy and two brothers, Thomas and Wilmer Gill. Services will be held at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St, Newark, DE 19711 on Friday October 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at noon. Burial will be in New London Methodist Cemetery.
