Rudy Campos Sr.
RUDY CAMPOS, SR., 82, entered eternal life on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. He was born December 13, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA, the only son of Telesforo and Maria Perez Campos. His sisters nicknamed him "Nito." He was predeceased by both parents and three sisters: Virginia Solano, Hortencia Aragonez and Dora Olivarez. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lucy Young Campos and their five children: Rudy Campos of Arcadia, CA, Loren Campos of Las Cruces, NM, Joe Campos (Rebecca) and John Campos (LeeAnne) both of Alhambra, CA, Mario Campos (Colleen) of Ontario, CA; and Laura Marie Rivera (Lorenzo) of Tujunga, CA. He is also survived by two sisters, Lucera Barilla of Rosemead, CA and Margaret Lopez of Los Angeles, CA. He had fourteen grandchildren: Artamisa, Rudy, Charles, Ben, Adrianna, Jacob, Amarina, Elisa, Joseph, Jon, James, Joshua, Sarah, Jason, and eight great grandchildren. Rudy was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of '46, in Los Angeles CA, where he met and later married, Lucinda Young. Shortly after marriage, he was drafted and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He served with the 151st Engineers (Combat) Battalion, Company C and attained the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return from the war he worked as a bookkeeper until his retirement.
