Linda J. Jakubowski – Decker Unadilla Forks Linda (Jake) J. Jakubowski – Decker, 50, of Unadilla Forks passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 27, 2011 due to injuries sustained in an accident. She was born on September 7, 1961 in Utica a daughter of Leon and Catherine (Connolly) Jakubowski. She was a 1980 graduate of Mount Markham High School. She was employed at one time with the N.Y. Central Mutual Restaurant in Edmeston and also with Delft Blue Veal Processing Plant in New York Mills and most recently with Agra Farms in South Edmeston. Linda was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in West Winfield. Linda was a sports enthusiast who loved Softball, baseball, basketball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. She was a star Softball player in High School where she excelled in her position as Pitcher. She was the only pitcher in history of the Mount Markham High School Girls Softball League that ever pitched a no hitter game. She adored her son Kenny whom she loved spending time with. Kenny was her pride and joy; she spent every minute of her free time with him and taught him the finer points of baseball and life itself. She is survived by her adored and cherished son Kenny Decker of Unadilla Forks, her mother Catherine Jakubowski and her partner Norman Schworm of Burlington Flats, her father and stepmother Leon Jakubowski and his wife Doreen of Leonardsville, a sister Theresa Johns - Witt and her husband Richard of Oswego, two step sisters, Beth Ann Cote and Rhonda Cote both of West Winfield. She also leaves her former husband, David Decker of TX, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and two great nieces. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home 365 West Main St. West Winfield with the Rev. Terrence Healy of St. Joseph the Worker Church in West Winfield officiating. Interment will be in Unadilla Forks Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to her son Kenny or a charity of your choice in Linda's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeralhome.
