Shirley Rae Watson, 81, of Wichita Falls, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015. Interment will be held at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Shirley was born on August 29, 1934 in Columbus, Indiana to the late William and Forest Rose Nell (Shatto) Heitz. On August 29, 1949, she married Joseph Harris Watson in Jamestown, Kentucky.   Shirley volunteered for many years at Red Cross.   A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley was outgoing and never met a stranger.   Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Harris Watson; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Richard Allen Watson and wife Michelle, and Donald Watson and wife Barbara all of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Doris and Margie; four grandchildren, Judith Surber and husband Jeff of Wichita Falls, David Watson of Alpine, Beth Helms and husband Tyler of Wichita Falls, and Adam Watson of Alpine; and four great-grandchildren, Kristin and Katie Surber, and Evelyn and Nora Helms. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
