Helen L. Comunale Masters, 88, of Wilmerding, died peacefully Wednesday, Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, surrounded by her family. Helen was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, who was greatly loved and will be missed tremendously. Her greatest joys in life were cooking, baking, spending time with her family and making them happy with her delicious meals and baked goods. She was also proud of the time she spent working in the Westinghouse Airbrake Company during World War II and had many fond memories of that time of her life. She was a daughter of the late Tony and Pauline Comunale; wife of the late John E. Masters Sr.; beloved mother of John E. (Kathy) Masters Jr., Michael Masters, David Masters and Nancy Ann (Joseph) Dvorak; loving grandmother of James Masters and Joseph David Dvorak; dear sister of Jennie (the late Edward) DeFalco, Edith (Ray) Christie, Lillian (the late Robert) Fresch, George (Janet) Comunale, the late Genre (Millie) Comunale, the late Amelio (Louise) Comunale, the late Angie (Thomas) Tuskan, the late Frank and James Comunale; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, PA 15148, 412-824-4332. Prayer service will be in the funeral home 9 a.m. Thursday followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
