Helen King Hite, 91, of Chelsea, Mich., died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Silver Maples. She was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Oakdale, the daughter of James and Stella (Styperk) Wilcox. Helen was a longtime member and the secretary for Northmont United Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh. She was a former secretary at United States Steel. On April 14, 1955, she married James William King Jr., in Pittsburgh, and he preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1982. She married William Hite Jun 9, 1984, and he also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, James William King III (Nancy Ambrose), of Ann Arbor, Mich., Robert Craig King (Patricia Millett), of Alexandria, Va.; a stepdaughter, Margie Hite Houy; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, David and Elizabeth King. She was preceded in death by both of her husband and stepdaughter, Catherine King Zernhelt. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Northmont United Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be held at the Allegheny County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by COLE FUNERAL CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Department of Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 U.S. Route 19, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
