Lasky, Elizabeth Elizabeth Demeter Lasky, age 102, of Fairfield, wife of the late Edward Lasky, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2015. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Mary Nagy Demeter, Betty had been a Bridgeport and Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. She started working at the age of 15 as a factory worker in area factories and several retail stores and retired from the Fairfield Public School System. She is survived by her devoted son, Roger Lasky, whom she lived with and lovingly cared for his mother for the past 20 years, of Fairfield, a sister in law Rose Demeter, of Bridgeport as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and John Demeter and sisters Patricia Drought and Ethel Dobos. Betty's son and extended family want to thank the staff at both St. Vincent's Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital for their care and support and for Dr. Lenore Snowden, Rev. Susan Pfeil, and the Sherman School family for their care and compassion. Most especially, the staff, home care workers, and nurses at the Shamrock Home Care for their loving care, friendship and support over the past four years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with the Rev. Susan Pfeil officiating. Burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
