In memory of
DR. CLINTON J. HARRIS
Dr. Clinton Jacob Harris, age 60, of Grand Rapids, passed into eternal life in Christ on Sunday, April 12 surrounded by family after a brave battle with glioblastoma. Clint embodied the "faithful servant" who was always willing to drop everything to help others. He was an energetic, curious, wise and loving husband, father, brother, doctor and friend who lived life abundantly. Clint was happiest when he was with his family, attending their sporting and music events and traveling together. He loved hiking, swimming, music, reading, hockey, movies, kayaking, and games of all sorts. He was a great host and grill-master, presiding over festive meals served with his homemade wine. Clint was a man of deep faith whose life and profession grew out of his commitment to his Lord. He devoted himself to loving, compassionate medical practice and is remembered by countless colleagues, patients and their families for his unusually attentive and respectful care. Clint joins in Heaven his father, George Harris, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. John and Eleanor VanderMolen. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol; his children and their spouses, Christina and Nate Stehouwer, Marcia and Tyler Last, Kevin and Katie Harris, and Diane Harris; his mother, Ina Harris; his stepmother-in-law June VanderMolen; his siblings and their spouses, Greg and Kathleen Harris, Dan and Karla Harris, Ted and Wilma Harris, and Kathleen and Mike Devarenne; by brothers- and sisters-in-law, Tom and Judy VanderMolen, Bob VanderMolen and Kathy Kowalski, Jan and Brian Brouwer, and Jim and Andrea VanderMolen; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, patients, colleagues, and friends. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm; Thursday, April 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE; and at Church of the Servant CRC, 3835 Burton St. SE on Friday one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17 at Church of the Servant CRC, 3835 Burton St. SE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Christian Rest Home for Resident Needs, Porter Hills General Benevolence Fund, Holland Home Faith Hospice, or Association for a More Just Society (AJS), PO Box 888631, Grand Rapids, MI 49588.
