July 18, 1959 - February 22, 2015 Juan Briones Jr. went to be with our Lord Feb. 22 in his childhood home, surrounded by his family, after a 15-month battle with brain cancer. Born and raised in San Antonio, he graduated from Memorial High School and earned a bachelor's degree in economics and Spanish literature from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he earned an MBA in finance. Juan lived in Santa Monica, California, for more than 33 years, moving back to San Antonio in December 2013 to spend time with his family. He lived a happy, full life and was active in his community in California. He served on the alumni board of directors of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and was the activities committee leader at Westwood Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. He also served on the marketing and promotions events staff of the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Juan worked as a finance manager and consultant for several music companies, including Universal Music Group, Vivende, EMI Music/Capital Records and Univision Music Group. He enjoyed bicycling on the Santa Monica beach and loved yoga, dancing, traveling, coordinating events, Dia de Los Muertos and high school reunions. In 2014, he was awarded the Keeping the Faith Award from the San Antonio chapter of Head for the Cure. We will miss his enthusiasm, energy and ever-present smile.
