Myrtle Ratliff
Myrtle Ratliff, age 92, of Drift, passed away Jan. 10, 2015, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Medical Center, at McDowell. She was born April 13, 1922, at Langley, a daughter of the late Allen and Mary Ann Lafferty Ratliff. Myrtle was a retired school teacher and a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Associaton She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and led many people to Christ through her teachings as a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, in Allen. Myrtle is survived by a sister, Sydney Ratliff, of Drift, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers, Ellis, Elza, Earnie, Oliver, Ollie, Jim, Henry, Luther Gene, Samuel, Rondell and Edgel Ratliff, and five sisters, Gladys Bailey, Goldia Francis, Bertha Ratliff, Lula Bradley and Shirley Amburgey. Funeral services for Myrtle Ratliff will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the Christ United Methodist Church, in Allen, with Ken Lemaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Christ United Methodist Church, 105 Methodist Lane, Allen, Ky. 41601 or McDowell Senior Citizens, 8954 Ky Rt 122, McDowell, KY 41647
