Wiita, William Russell; 47; of Kalkaska; passed away suddenly on Monday, September 8, 2014; at his home. He was born on October 28, 1966, in Virginia, Minnesota, to David and Audrey Wiita. Will graduated high school in Cherry, Minnesota. He went to work at Double Eagle Steel Company in Dearborn until he moved to Kalkaska. Will served as Assistant Chief at Coldsprings-Excelsior Fire and Rescue. In his spare time, Will could be found either hunting or fishing or playing the occasional practical joke on friends. Will is survived by his parents, David and Audrey Wiita of Mt. Iron, MN; siblings, Paul Wiita of Mt. Iron, Lynn (John) Sandford of England, and Richard (Marie) Wiita of Wyoming, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, and family; and many dear friends. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the CETA Hall, Kalkaska. Reverend Robert J. Freysinger of Kalkaska United Methodist Church officiated the service. Arrangements were entrusted with Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
